Next City Commission Meeting: 6 pm Aug. 4
Let’s get 60 new people there!
Our next meeting is at 6 pm Thursday, July 24 at 435 Edgemere Dr.
Recap of City Commission Meeting on Monday, July 21
Led through the 6 Standards of Review by City Manager Shea Charles, and Zoning Administrator Jay Gianotti, the Commissioners came to consensus that the PUD indeed met the standards, 4 expressing complete agreement with the 6 standards. This consensus locks the commission into approval of the PUD since, according to She Charles and City Planner Paul LeBlance, consensus on the 6 standards requires them to approve the plan.
During that review, Commissioner Abbie Goff Blazak was the only one who spoke in support of resident concerns. One other, Commissioner Kate Skaggs, spoke up about wanting an open public area. Commissioners Ryan Burdick, Chris Wessely, and Laura Schwartz all expressed wanting to move forward. They saw no need to change the plan in any way, and agreed that the traffic studies we were promised earlier by the city aren't needed before they vote. Commissioner Bradley Hunter was on a long scheduled family vacation. It was a travesty Mayor Favale scheduled the only PUD review knowing weeks ahead that he could not attend. She knew full well that he had serious concerns with the plan.
We have a lot of work to do. Plan on attending the next 2 City Commission meetings on Aug. 4 and 18, and the Planning Commission meeting on August 12.
The commission is moving ahead without a promised up-to-date traffic safety study. NO TRAFFIC STUDY--NO VOTE
Now is the time to get involved.

Where can I view the most recent plan? Please note, the table on pg 4 is misleading. A reduction in “levels” is not a change in height. Height of bld D goes from 7 to 5 levels, but only drops by 9 feet.
How to receive text or email alerts from the city about the next City Commission Agenda and changes to the proposed plan? (Most important alerts are under City Commission and Gaslight Investors Project.)
